  • Condition: Good-Very Good overall vint cond: This vint 1971 Mattel 'The World of Barbie' padded, insulated vinyl girl's handled lunch box, has its orig accompanying Thermos brand 1/2-pint litho'd enamel thermos, w/mercury glass insulated int sleeve. It's fairly clean, w/only what appears to be the shadow of a Sharpie marker price that was at some point, possibly written on the lunch box when it was 1st resold at a yd sale or flea market many yrs ago. We've tried to simply wash it w/mild soap & water but were only able to diminish its intensity. We stopped there & didn't use any stronger bleaching compounds or more aggressive cleaning agents. This amounts to any damage that may have occurred to the lunch box's ext or int sidewalls. The front metal flip latch, which holds the front flap cover to the body in the closed position, is now missing the top rectangular tab portion of the latch, which at some point in time, had broken off. The lunch box & thermos remain in well-preserved cond. Very cool.
