    Description

    pre-WWI Era US Army Model 1904 Hospital Corps Knife - Modified to Bowie Style Fighting Knife - Marked: US SA 1913 with Leather Scabbard Marked: Rock Island Arsenal 1914 - Very Nice Condition - RARE
    Up for sale is an Original pre-WWI Era US Army M1904 Hospital Corps Knife with Leather Scabbard.  It has been modified to a Bowie Style Fighting Knife.  The blade has a bright finish with some minor discoloration spots. No nicks or chips in the blade.  The shape of the blade has been modified to a clip point Bowie Style.  Minor evidence of sharpening.  Nor rust or pitting.  The blade is marked: SA 1913 on one side and US 34844 on the other side.  The walnut grips are in good condition, see photo's.  Hairline crack on each side, and the normal handling marks.  The brass end cap on the handle is no longer present.  The leather scabbard was the 2nd pattern with the Krag Style Belt Loop.  The belt hook has been removed and replace with a leather belt loop. The scabbard is marked: Rock Island Arsenal 1914.  No rips or tears in the leather.
    The leather is soft and supple, all seams are intact.  Please see photo's for condition.  Very Hard to find one of these knives converted into a fighting knife, in this condition.
