WW1 era British M1907 Wilkinson Sword S294 bayonet for SMLE, orig scabbard, frog

Description

Original WW1 era (1907 manufacture) M1907 bayonet for SMLE rifle with original metal-tipped leather scabbard and canvass frog; slightly used condition. Manufactured by Wilkinson Sword Co. (S294 / WSC stamp on ricasso). Original wood grips have a few contact marks but are in great shape overall; no cracks or chips; initials KT are lightly cut on one side. Bayonet release mechanism is tight and 100% functional. The bayonet is about 21-7/8" / 55.5 cm overall; the blade is about 17-1/8" / 43.5 cm long. Muzzle ring and pommel are excellent; a few minor contact marks are noted for accuracy. Original leather scabbard with steel fittings and WW-2 era canvass frog. The scabbard was re-finished with OD-green coat - the bayonet was probably fitted with a new frog and re-issued during WW2.

Excellent quality bayonet with crisp lines; the original-edge blade is in great shape with no edge nicks or spine dings. Original wood grips have a few contact marks but are in great shape overall; no cracks or chips; initials
